Project requirements: For a 3+ year project, deploy a solar-powered air monitoring instrumentation array and meteorological station to monitor ambient air quality around a large-scale environmental remediation project and to measure potential air impacts from project implementation.
Technical highlights: Solar-powered field air monitoring instruments capable of parts per billion level detections for vapors and dust concentrations were deployed in environmental enclosures at stations surrounding a large-scale environmental remediation project site. Real-time air monitoring data was transmitted through a wireless network to an on-site host computer.
Key outcomes: Air vapor, dust concentration and weather data were collected to demonstrate that project implementation was within regulatory levels and that nearby receptors were not adversely affected as a result of project implementation.
