Integrating More Efficient In Situ Technologies to Best Meet RAOs

Speaker: Will Moody, Provectus Environmental Products, Inc.

Provectus is a performance technology/chemistry provider to the soil and groundwater remediation industry. The company specializes in the development and global commercialization of next-generation, synergistic in situ chemical reduction (ISCR), in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO), and bioremediation technologies. Its proprietary technology portfolio represents the safest, most effective, and most cost-efficient solutions available to the environmental industry.
They are not consultants. Instead, Provectus’ business model is to support responsible parties, environmental engineers, technical consultants, governmental regulators, and the wider academic community by providing design and selection of cost-effective remediation strategies. Based in Illinois, the Provectus team has over 75 years of combined in situ remediation experience addressing common and emerging constituents of interest.

Will addressed a variety of issues during his talk, including:

  • The limitations and advantages of using in situ technologies
  • Cost and efficiency of using ISCO/ISCR
  • Advancements with ISCO/ISCR technologies
  • Remediation of BTEX, PCE, TCE, etc.

Two example case studies from the presentation:

  • Mendota, IL, active facility: Pre-treatment PCE and toluene soil concentrations of 38,000 mg/kg and 4,000 mg/kg, respectively, were present. Soil mixing was utilized to reach the Soil Saturation Limits for PCE and toluene of less than 900 mg/kg and less than100 mg/kg, respectively.
  • St. Albans, WV, gas station: Total VOCs in groundwater present in the most contaminated well were greater than 1,700 ug/L. Following oxidant injection, all target VOCs were non-detect with no rebound. For more information about Provectus’ technologies, please visit provectusenvironmental.com, or call (815) 650-2230.
