How FEI is handling the COVID-19 Pandemic

March 23: Notice TO CLIENTS of Field Environmental Instruments, Inc., on the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic:

At FEI, we continue to seek ways to enhance the precautions we are taking related to the coronavirus outbreak.

Many of our customers throughout the Country have reported to us that they are still working, and now doing so remotely from home offices.

In response to this situation, FEI wanted to remind its customers that we can make arrangements for equipment pick-up and delivery to these remote home office work locations.

Last week, FEI added disinfectant protocols to its routine equipment handling procedures particularly as it relates to equipment pick-up and delivery.

Our customers have responded favorably to these precautions. These same disinfectant precautions extend to equipment deliveries and pick-up made to remote home office work locations. Particulars of these equipment disinfectant protocols can be found on the FEI website.

To minimize contact, delivery personnel will not enter home office areas to drop off or retrieve equipment. FEI will facilitate arrangements via telephone and use coordinated drop off and pick-up spots located outside residences.

At the moment, all of FEI’s locations remain open, operational, and staffed to serve our customers. As usual we are available by phone or email.

FEI has been deemed an essential business operation according to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s listing, and will remain open to serve its customers during this crisis.

FEI is strictly following the suggested protocols and safety measures outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Protection to minimize the spread of COVID19 in its workplace.

As throughout our 25 years of service to the environmental, health, and safety industry, we remain committed to providing the best exposure monitoring instrumentation and environmental sampling equipment, supplies, and unmatched service to our customers.

Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions or concerns.

It is our goal is to remain fully functional through this crisis with additional health, safety, and wellness precautions instituted.

At FEI, we are not only following the protocols and safety measures outlined by the Centers for Disease Control and Protection, suggested to minimize the spread of COVID-19 for all of its personnel, but also have adopted additional Equipment Disinfectant and handling protocols across all of its offices.

These Equipment Disinfectant protocols are designed to make sure that we are doing everything we can to assist in containing the spread of this virus.

Among the steps within the Equipment Disinfectant and handling protocols we are taking:
  • Applying disinfectant (diluted bleach solutions of a minimum four tablespoons of bleach per quart of water) when handling all equipment on both the delivery and return side.
  • Applying disinfectant solutions on all hard surfaces just prior to equipment delivery, or just thereafter for all equipment returns.
  • Instructing our drivers and warehouse personnel to wear disposable nitrile gloves while making deliveries and handling equipment and including a specific disinfectant step within our internal cleaning and equipment preparation steps.
  • Adapting equipment delivery and return procedures by asking our customers, when possible, to meet FEI delivery personnel outside their routine locations in areas that minimize possible exposures.
  • Utilize third party carriers to replace FEI deliveries when it makes sense to limit exposures.

While we recognize that the good of the public’s health is paramount, the business needs of our customers also are important. We are committed to ensuring that you receive the equipment, services, and materials you need for your projects in as safe a manner as possible. At the moment, all of FEI’s locations remain open to serve our customers, and we are available as usual by phone or email.
